Heather Voegt is a Fresh Produce Specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the field of Fresh Produce and Fresh Produce Technology.
Heather studied Food Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Her career started with Distell Corporation and then moved to Bromor Foods, where she worked as a couple of years as a Food Technologist. Heather then went on to join a specialist fresh foods unit for eight years as a Food and Process Technologist.
Heather then spent the next eleven years at a leading retailer as a Food Technologist in the Produce Department dealing with Ready to Eat vegetables, fruit, vegetable and lettuce and leaf prduction. She honed her skills as a Fresh Produce Specialist, focusing on varietal development and Modified Atmosphere Packaging.
Heather’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Fresh Produce have been gained during her considerable years working in the field.
Keith Coleman has many years of invaluable experience in fresh foods packaging and true industry expertise.
Keith established the first African based specialist Modified Atmosphere Packaging unit in the technology of laser microperforation 1999 – a company that grew to be market leaders in M.A.P. and printed flexible films for produce packaging in South Africa. In 2004 Keith sold his majority share of Knilam Packaging (Pty) Ltd to a listed group and stayed on as MD for the next three years.
Keith then sold out the balance of his shares and spent a few years as a business consultant, business coach and an entrepreneurship investor in the SME sector.
In 2013, Keith began was asked to consult in sustainability in retail packaging, and has spent time in that area, assisting various packaging business in the area of specialist packaging for fresh foods.
With the founding of Foodtech Fresh, this duo can contribute to the new world demand for improved systems and efficiencies in food waste reduction and packaging reductions, through technical and supply chain optimisation from food and packaging technologies available, but calling for an integrated approach
